Covid, Covid go away

I have earned a privilege over the period of time and was eager to exercise it first time but Covid came in the way.
I am looking forward to occupying reserved seats in metro, bus etc shooing away youngsters.😝😝😝
I need to carry a lanyard displaying "my eligibility" as my appearance befits a middle ager- my assessment which my family members do not agree with.😪

An article in BBC News on line saying coconut is a wonder fruit  has brought up a lump in my throat. As kids, we used to love watching coconut climbers doing their job. I would say they were the early Nadian Comanecans.The global public had to wait till 1976 Montreal Olympics, to get an acrobat exhibit the coordination and aesthetic beauty of coconut tree climbing in the form of Nadia Comaneci. We tried to emulate the free style method of the climbers but ended up with bruise marks on our chests, calf muscles and inner thighs. The higher our freehand climb took us, deeper were the bruises as we used to "give up" in exhaustion and hug the tree dearly to slow down the  fall. The payment for the climbers was partly cash and partly in kind - it was related to the number of trees climbed and not related the yield. Celebrities and silly season

It had to happen some day or the other. Globalisation brings in not only economic interdependency but a host of other things as well.Some of these things are alien to our milieu and it would take some time to get used to it. Of course, these have been confined to urban masses as things stand. The obsession with celebrities is one such import. I have read somewhere that seats were sold for Pd Stg 1000 each to fans and public ( of course dinner was served ) for Victoria Beckam- David Beckam marriage reception. There is nothing wrong in making hay while sun shines and selling seats at the marriage reception is one such opportunity. There is an obsession with celebrities ( read film stars and good looking sports persons - on this count, PT Usha would have never made the grade ) with TV channels giving minute by minute coverage and newspapers also spending reams of paper. Crow and water -Panchatantra story - revised !

Musing on morning walk Like everything,Panchatantra story - crow and water - can also be revised to be in tune with times😊 Rainy morning today here in Delhi. Went for a walk holding the umbrella. A cup of tea from roadside vendor is a must on the way back Dogs are temperamental. An open pack of glucose biscuits was lying untouched under a makeshift bench. A crow flew in, squatted  and picked up a biscuit. What it did next was interesting. It shuffled forward with the biscuit in its beak and dropped it into a very shallow puddle of water. Few seconds later it started nibbling at the soggy biscuit. In no time it had the company of couple of crows and a mina who took  turns in nibbling.
